When In Jaipur ...
When in Jaipur, known as the Pink City, you can not miss the prominent tourist attraction 'Palace Of The Winds', or Hawa Mahal, since its located in the heart of the city. This beautiful 5-story palace was built in the form of the crown of Krishna, the Hindu god. The palace was intended to provide the royal women a view of everyday life through the windows, as they never appeared in public.
And of course what got me and my partner in crime (my sister) even more excited is the fact that the biggest bazaar is right next to the palace. So a little bit of history/architecture lesson while we stock up on unique gifts and pure Indian hand made fabrics, accompanied by a delicious glass of Indian Chai? Oh yes please!
There are numerous attractions around Hawa Mahal such as the famed Jantar Mantar, Govind Devji temple, Amer Fort, Nahargarh Fort, Ram Niwas Bagh, BM Birla Planetarium, Jain Temple, Statue Circle, Sisodia Rani Garden and so on.
